Aizawl: Mizoram launched a week-long anti-corruption push this Monday. Government employees across the state took an integrity pledge at 11 am to demand a corruption-free administration. They want clean government. At the Mizoram Secretariat, staff gathered in the courtyard to formalize their commitment. Sudhir Kumar, the in-charge Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, led the ceremony.

This campaign runs from October 26 to November 1. It honors the annual initiative of the Central Vigilance Commission, which has taken place since 2000. The schedule aligns with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the nation's first deputy prime minister and home minister. Activities aim to sharpen transparency in public service.

The state Vigilance Department set a packed agenda for the coming days. They will host a major workshop at Vanapa Hall on October 28. Chief Minister Lalduhoma will attend this session. Officials noted the significance of the appearance, stating, "The event will be only the second major Vigilance Awareness programme in Mizoram to be held with the participation of the chief minister."

Additional outreach includes Awareness Gram Sabhas on October 31. Organizers also set a flyer-making competition tied to the theme 'Probity for Prosperity.' A walkathon remains on the books as well. This event travels from Vanapa Hall to the Millennium Centre and features Lalduhoma leading the way.
