Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma directed officials on Thursday to crack down on corruption with absolute impartiality. He urged inquiry officers to use their statutory powers to detect and prosecute graft without hesitation. The call came during a training workshop on the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, for the Mizoram Lokayukta, the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and state police.
The government is pushing for a clean administration. Lalduhoma confirmed that authorities have strengthened the Lokayukta and the Anti-Corruption Bureau by sanctioning new vehicles for agents and providing fresh incentives. Personnel now receive special allowances that were previously cut during the pandemic. He told the gathered officers, "No person should be spared during investigations," and demanded tighter coordination between the Vigilance Department and other agencies.
Lalduhoma admitted that too many inquiries remain stuck in the system. He ordered officers to dispose of all pending cases as quickly as possible. Attendees at the Aizawl event included Chief Secretary and Chief Vigilance Officer Khilli Ram Meena and DGP Sharad Agarwal.
