Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma ordered officials on September 3 to hit corruption hard. He made it clear that investigations must spare no one. He spoke at a workshop for the Vigilance Department, the Mizoram Lokayukta, the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and state police.
The government is pushing for a clean administration. Lalduhoma confirmed new vehicles for the Anti-Corruption Bureau and gave Lokayukta inquiry officers vehicle entitlements. He also restored special incentive allowances for Anti-Corruption Bureau staff that vanished during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Lokayukta officers get those same incentives.
Money is flowing into anti-corruption awareness campaigns. The Chief Minister told his team they have real power. He said, "The law vested them with considerable powers and urged them to exercise those powers strictly and fairly."
Lalduhoma wants better teamwork between the Vigilance Department and other agencies. He noted that a pile of cases remains open. He demanded that officers close these pending files as fast as possible. Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena and DGP Sharad Agarwal attended the session.
