Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Phuleshe K. Yepthomi chaired the District Planning and Development Board meeting on August 25 at the DB Court in the DC Office, Meluri. Officials reviewed the previous meeting minutes and mapped out administrative priorities for the district.
Waste management took center stage. Yepthomi demanded strict adherence to government guidelines regarding the segregation and disposal of single use plastics and bottles. He told the board: "Collective efforts and active participation from all departments are essential for sustainable development and effective delivery of government programmes."
The board also greenlit a plan for monthly departmental visits to Government Higher Secondary Schools. These visits aim to introduce students to the roles and services provided by various government offices. Khontsa Perry, SDO of PWD (R&B), wrapped up the session with a PowerPoint presentation detailing the department's recent achievements and ongoing activities.
