Shillong: Meghalaya kicks off the second Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet on October 8 and 9. The event happens at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. Organizers expect local MSMEs to find new buyers and scout business leads. The Directorate of Commerce and Industries teamed up with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations to run the show. They operate under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance program.
This initiative brings buyers directly to the manufacturers. It aims to build solid commercial partnerships. The organizers anticipate more than 800 structured B2B meetings throughout the two-day event. These sit-downs aim to lock in market linkages and push exports out of the state. The meet serves as a direct matchmaking hub for homegrown talent.
A concurrent State Industrial Exhibition-cum-Sales puts local goods on display. Shoppers and buyers will find food-processing items, handloom, and handicrafts. Vendors will also stock bamboo, cane products, honey, and wellness goods. Officials say the initiative aims to provide Meghalaya’s enterprises with "greater exposure to national and international markets while strengthening the state’s emerging export ecosystem." This push looks to move local products beyond state borders.
