Margherita Bazaar Committee Delivers Food to Hospital Patients on Independence Day

Guwahati: The Margherita Bazaar Committee spent Independence Day visiting hospital beds. They handed out fruit and food to more than 300 patients. The recipients reside in the Margherita Civil Hospital and the North Eastern Coalfields Central Hospital of Coal India Ltd. This marks five decades of the group running this specific outreach program.

Committee president Santosh Kumar Chetry and general secretary Bappa Paul led the effort. They worked alongside local officials to distribute the goods. Attendees included Sub-Inspector of Food and Civil Supplies Sudha Thapa, Municipal Board Financial Management Officer Sanjib Das, and doctors Amit Shah and Girish Chandra Pati. The committee stated, "It has been carrying out the initiative of distributing food items to patients on Independence Day for around five decades."

Margherita Co-District Administration held the main event at the town's Central Field. The administration organizes the central festivities every year. Local leaders and medical staff turned out to support the effort. The hospital visit remains a tradition for the committee.
