Guwahati: A violent storm tore through the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly constituency in Tinsukia, Assam, on October 9. Heavy rains fueled the chaos. Residents panicked as winds battered the region, leaving a trail of uncertainty and destruction.

A massive bamboo tree uprooted in the Margherita Kalibari area. It slammed directly into a residential home. The impact heavily damaged the structure, trapping the occupants inside. It was a close call. The family managed to crawl out completely unhurt, narrowly avoiding a lethal tragedy.

Margherita Municipal Board officials arrived on the scene soon after to inspect the wreckage. They met with the impacted residents to survey the site. The board promised aid, stating, "necessary assistance and arrangements would be made" for the family.

Authorities have not yet finished a full count of the destruction. Officials continue to assess the wider damage across the constituency.
