Guwahati: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati put six Assam districts on high alert for severe weather. Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and Sivasagar face isolated thunderstorms and lightning beginning at 8.30 am on September 29. The bulletin remains in effect until 8.30 am on September 30. Storms will not hit every corner of these districts at once.

Charaideo district joins the warning list, expecting heavy rain along with lightning and isolated thunder. Southern Assam faces more dangerous conditions. Hailakandi and Sribhumi districts expect thunderstorms coupled with gusty winds clocking 40 to 50 kmph.

Officials want residents to stay alert. The India Meteorological Department expects varying conditions across the region. Authorities told the public: "Residents have been advised to follow subsequent updates from the India Meteorological Department and exercise caution during thunderstorm activity, particularly in open and exposed areas." Keep away from open fields while the weather stays volatile.
