Imphal: The Manipur Baptist Convention pressed state officials for action on August 28. General secretary Jolly Rimai led a delegation to the Civil Secretariat in Mantripukhri to meet Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho. They delivered a formal memorandum addressed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh. Justice remains elusive. The group demanded accountability for the six Liangmai Naga civilians killed on May 13, 2026.

Families face ongoing hardship. The victims' bodies remain at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences while the Convention waits for a resolution. They refuse to bury the dead until justice is served. The Convention's three-point charter demands immediate justice, financial help for the victims' families, and safe passage for the remains.

The memorandum insists the state stop the delay. It calls for steps to lower tensions and restore peace across the region. Deputy Chief Minister Dikho heard the grievances during the meeting. He promised the government would evaluate the situation and provide necessary assistance. The Convention remains focused on the families' needs. "The MBC also urged the state government to act without further delay, address the concerns of the families and take steps to prevent further escalation and restore peace in Manipur," the organization stated in their plea.
