Ludhua Tea Garden Transforms Into South Tripura Tourism Hub

Agartala: South Tripura is seeing a surge in tourism at the Ludhua Organic Tea Garden. Hundreds of visitors arrive daily following a boating trial run held on June 17. The site, which covers 1,252.85 acres, produces organic black and green tea using bio-pesticides and natural manure. These products reach buyers in the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia through two Kolkata-based companies.

Construction work continues at the site despite the early crowds. Official Sujit Shil confirmed the project will be named the Ludhua Tea Garden Adventure Zone. Plans include homestays, medicinal plant gardens, and a future ropeway. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is expected to formally open the park soon.

Water activities are the main draw. The garden features a two-acre lake housing three jet boats and two kayaks. Officials also introduced four-seater pedal boats. According to the project organizers, "The boating facilities have already emerged as a major attraction for visitors."

Rupaichhari BDO Pritam Debnath is leading the effort to turn the local block into a tourism hub. He is linking the tea garden with the Mahamuni Buddhist Temple and Maitri Setu. Workers are currently building trekking routes, rest areas, and modern toilets to handle the rising footfall.
