LPG Truck Crash Stalls Traffic on Silchar-Haflong Highway

Guwahati: A truck carrying a load of LPG cylinders crashed on the Silchar-Haflong Highway in the Durbintila area of Borkhola on July 28. The vehicle, bearing registration number AS-01UC-3967, was heading from Haflong to Silchar when the disaster began. A rear wheel detached while the truck was in motion.

The truck lost a front wheel shortly after. That wheel tumbled into a deep roadside gorge. The driver lost control of the vehicle entirely. He sustained minor injuries during the wreck. He survived. Panic gripped the local area due to the hazardous cargo on board, but no explosion occurred.

A team from the Borkhola Police Station arrived quickly. Sub-Inspector Abdul Haque Laskar led the responding officers. They secured the scene and began an investigation into why the vehicle failed. Authorities are working to figure out exactly what happened on the road. According to reports, "The accident triggered panic in the area as the truck was carrying LPG cylinders, though no explosion or major damage was reported."
