Kohima: Immediate Past International Director Rajkumar Agarwal told Lions members to boost recruitment and push new service projects during the District 322D cabinet installation. The event took place at Dimapur Town Hall on Saturday for the 2026-27 Lions year. Agarwal wants clubs to grab grants from the Lions Clubs International Foundation to fund work in diabetes, vision, childhood cancer, hunger, environment, disaster relief, schools, hospitals, and blood banks.
He praised Dimapur clubs for their dedication. Their work proves the group's mission. "Their practice of combining major celebrations with service activities reflected the true spirit of the organisation’s motto, We Serve," Agarwal said. He noted that District 322D remains a powerhouse despite past shifts in administrative boundaries.
Success relies on volunteers. Agarwal pushed for more recognition and awards to keep members motivated. He highlighted the Mission 1.5 membership campaign, which targets the creation of new clubs to ensure the organization lasts. District Governor Dr. Neena Dutta earned praise for taking over 200 delegates to the 108th Lions Clubs International Convention in Hong Kong. That massive group helped pass resolutions to add more directors from the ISAME region by 2029.
India remains a major force. The country now hosts over 300,000 members and stands as the biggest contributor to the global group. Lions clubs across India are celebrating 70 years of service this year. Agarwal challenged District 322D to plan a major event for the milestone. He also told members to use artificial intelligence to map out future projects and maintain their pace of service.
