Kohima: Sani Pongen, a District Coordinator Officer with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, took the stage at Unity College on Saturday. He urged students to stop hunting for jobs and start building their own. The talk series focused on opening new entrepreneurship avenues for the local youth.
Pongen detailed several KVIC financial support schemes for startups. He pointed toward Naga crafts, bamboo items, and village industries as reliable ways to build a career. He told the audience, "Urging young people to become job creators rather than job seekers," he explained that local industry growth starts with individual initiative.
Unity College hosted the event alongside Immanuel College. Tokali H Awomi chaired the session. Avibo Chishi, the head of the Department of Economics at Unity College, started the meeting with a welcome address. Dr. S. Temsusenla from Immanuel College closed the talk with a vote of thanks. Sixty faculty members and students attended the seminar.
