Kohima: MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Ato Rhutso brought free healthcare to the Tsiepfutsiepfhe Colony in Kohima on Friday. Roughly 200 local residents showed up for the event. The camp provided general physician and specialist consultations alongside blood sugar and blood pressure screenings. Patients also received blood tests, dental check-ups, ultrasound services, and ENT screenings. Medical staff performed cervical cancer Pap smears and handed out free drugs to those in need.
Doctors visited the homes of bedridden and elderly patients who could not make it to the main site. Organizers stated the event was aimed at "promoting a healthier community and ensuring a better future through accessible healthcare services."
The day kicked off with an opening address from Kohima Municipal Council councillor Ketousie Khamo. Vilekho Bio, general secretary of the Tsiepfutsiepfhe Council, chaired the program. Malol Neikha, a deacon at CRC Tsiepfutsiepfhe, offered a prayer. Following the successful turnout, the Tsiepfutsiepfhe Council thanked Dr. Ato and his medical team for the local effort.
