Kohima: The Kohima Sumi Hoho gathered at the Mount Olive College Auditorium in Kohima on July 25 for its general session. Y Kikheto Sema, Development Commissioner for the Government of Nagaland, spoke to the crowd. He urged them to work hard, stay humble, and seek divine wisdom. Sema also pushed for a smarter strategy to handle Sustainable Development Goals to ensure future progress.
KSH President K Shiwoto Wotsa thanked the members for their support over the last three years. He warned the Sumi residents of Kohima about the dangers found on social media platforms. Wotsa said, "He appealed to Sümi residents of Kohima to maintain cordial relationship with all the tribes and communities." The group resolved to keep peaceful ties with every community living in Kohima. They also promised to take strict action against any member who uses social media to harm the community.
The house re-elected the current office bearers for another year following a recommendation from the Search Committee. K Shiwoto Wotsa remains President, joined by Vice President Zhutovi Chisho and General Secretary Daniel Kiho. Other officials include Secretary V Khekiye Kiba, Treasurer Vikato Swu, and Cultural Secretaries Kazheto Yeptho and Yekhevi Achumi. Obed Chishi will serve as Publicity Secretary, Akheto Achumi as Cemetery Secretary, and Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, as the group's banker.
