Guwahati: Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University kicked off a special online counselling series for NET and SLET aspirants on October 2. The Indira Miri School of Education runs the program. It targets learners from SC, ST, OBC, MOBC, and other economically disadvantaged groups. University brass joined faculty and students during the virtual kickoff.

Assistant Professor Ritimoni Bordoloi explained the program offers constant academic support for competitive tests. Registrar Pranab Saikia pointed to past success stories. University learners recently cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test, the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination, and the Assam Public Service Commission exams. Saikia noted that students need to stay steady. He said, "The programme would benefit learners preparing for such examinations."

N.N. Sharma of the Maniram Dewan School of Management pushed students to take advantage of mock tests and study resources. Joydeep Baruah wants the school to use social media for mentoring and tracking student feedback. Parag Dutta highlighted that many current university students work as teachers while studying. He suggested past qualifiers act as mentors for those just starting. Dean Ranjan Dutta Kalita added that Junior Research Fellowship winners should lead prep sessions.

Vice Chancellor Rajendra Prasad Das wants students to balance distance learning with rigorous exam study. Arunima Borah ended the session with a vote of thanks.
