Assam Headmaster Accused of Selling Government Bicycles

Guwahati: Locals caught four government-issued bicycles leaving Tazuddin High School in Baghbar. They stopped the transport and handed the bikes over to Baghbar police. Residents claim headmaster Abdul Mannaaf Ahmed orchestrated the sale. Suspicion runs deep. They believe he already sold eight other bicycles from the school days ago.

The headmaster faces further accusations of peddling fake certificates for cash. He reportedly also sold government-supplied rice. These claims remain unproven. A local resident stated, "Local residents have sought a probe into how government-supplied materials from the school could allegedly be taken out and sold."

Police detained the headmaster's driver following a brief chase. The man fled the scene in an e-rickshaw before officers caught him for questioning. Law enforcement has launched a formal investigation into the operation. Officials expect to release more details once they finish the inquiry.
