Guwahati: Kaliabor College in Assam turned its campus into a marketplace. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell and the Institution's Innovation Council hosted a special fair to highlight student work. The event ditched the typical classroom routine. Instead, participants managed the full cycle of selling their own handmade and homemade goods.
Students from the college and local schools ran the stalls. Visitors and faculty walked the floor to buy products and talk shop. The goal is simple. Organizers want students to think about self-employment. The college stated, "Such initiatives would provide students with practical experience and help them gain confidence in turning their ideas and skills into viable products and ventures."
The fair drew a crowd. Feedback from the campus was positive. By running these stalls, students gained firsthand lessons in marketing and sales. The college hopes this trial run sparks interest in future business ventures.
