Imphal: Indian boxer Mandengbam Jadumani Singh secured a spot in the men's 55kg final at the Commonwealth Games 2026. He earned the right to fight for gold after defeating Namibia's Philip Pumulo Mutakela Haoseb in the semifinal round.

He expects to win. Jadumani focused on a clear objective during his time at the tournament. "The opponent was great today. I also strategised on how to play. I came here to win the gold medal. I will dedicate it to the entire country and my coach," he said after the match.

The victory triggered celebrations across his home state of Manipur. His family watched the performance with pride. His elder brother, Robinson Mandengbam, confirmed the family never doubted the boxer's path. "We are feeling ecstatic. He has reached the final, and we are very happy. We were confident that he would win; we always believed he would win," Robinson stated.

Jadumani now turns his attention to the final bout. He carries the weight of national expectations and his local community's support as he prepares to fight for the top podium spot.
