ICAR-NRC on Mithun Leads Sustainable Farming Push in Molvom

Kohima: Researchers from the ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun hit Molvom village on November 4. They ran the Khet Bachaao Abhiyaan-Rabi 2026 program to push sustainable farming. The team wanted to boost agricultural output. They also sought to lift up local livelihoods.

Farmers learned how to manage soil health. Staff showed them integrated farming systems and scientific livestock rearing. These methods aim to harden the village against bad yields. According to a press release, the program served to "encourage the adoption of scientific agricultural practices to promote sustainable farming, enhance livestock productivity and improve farmers’ livelihoods."
