Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ridiculed the Congress on October 31 for its constant claims that political rivals are afraid. He openly challenged the party to reveal the mechanics behind its alleged fear-measuring device. The jibe arrived just one day before the INDIA bloc plans to gather at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi to protest against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Sarma took to social media to call out the opposition. Whenever Congress loses its logical footing, they resort to the same tired tweet claiming their opponents are scared. He addressed the Congress leaders as dear friends and pressed for details on their polling methods. "Is it the famous 'Alu se sona' (from potato to gold) machine or have you invented something new? Please share the technology with us too, so we can also measure 'who is scared and how much'," he wrote.
The Chief Minister also posted an AI-generated image showing a factory turning potatoes into golden busts of Rahul Gandhi. The image features a meter intended to track fear levels. This clash follows Saturday's symbolic public impeachment of CEC Gyanesh Kumar by the INDIA bloc. Opposition leaders claim the right to vote is in danger and argue the Election Commission operates under the direction of the Narendra Modi government. Sunday's rally aims to escalate the campaign against the poll panel and the current electoral roll revision process.
