Guwahati: West Bengal Forest and Environment Minister Manoj Kumar Oraon arrived in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Tuesday, November 3. He came to inspect the ongoing mission to rescue a tiger known as Duar's King. The big cat has been on the move for ten days. It crossed the border from West Bengal into Assam by way of Raimona National Park.

The tiger currently hides in a bamboo grove near a paddy field in Gelaguri village. This spot sits roughly 10 km from Kokrajhar town. Before reaching this location, the animal passed through Boragari and Bwrsijhora villages. Wildlife experts originally brought the predator from Bihar to the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Oraon stated the animal holds value for both West Bengal and the rest of the nation.

Forest officials from both states are tracking the cat to prevent conflict with locals. They want to avoid injuries during the capture. Oraon expressed confidence in the joint effort. "We hope that the tiger will be tranquilised safely shortly," Oraon said. Teams plan to relocate the tiger to a secure habitat once they complete the operation.
