Guwahati: A male tiger now roams Dihing Patkai National Park. Environment and Forests Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah confirmed the sighting on August 19. Scientists finally have hard proof. The Zoological Survey of India snapped the animal while working with the Margherita West Forest Range, a unit within the Digboi Forest Division.

Forest staff previously identified the predator by finding stray pug marks in the dirt. This camera trap image turns those rumors into scientific fact. Mallabaruah credited the discovery to the hard work of rangers. He noted that the record was the result of sustained patrolling and monitoring by forest officials and frontline personnel.

This sighting marks a win for the park. Dihing Patkai remains one of the most important rainforest ecosystems in Assam. It proves that the protected area holds significant wildlife diversity.
