Guwahati: Kaziranga National Park finished 1,000 days without a single rhino poaching incident. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the streak today. This stretch marks over three years of safety for the iconic one-horned rhinoceroses. The park holds UNESCO World Heritage status.

Sarma credited the win to a strict, uncompromising stance against illegal hunters. He posted on social media to praise the sustained protection efforts. He said the achievement reflected the authorities' "sustained efforts and uncompromising stand against poaching."

The government intends to keep the record clean. Officials will continue to pour resources into the park to ensure the rhinos stay safe. The long-term protection of this species remains a top state priority.
