Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg will head to Mumbai for specialized medical care and professional counseling. Dr. Hitesh Baruah announced the move during a Tuesday press conference at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati. She remains stable for now. Her blood pressure and blood sugar levels are currently within normal ranges.

She has suffered from deep mental stress and depression since Zubeen Garg died on September 19, 2025. She also faces persistent sleep disturbances. Nemcare Hospital staff admitted her last Saturday after she collapsed at an Assam Jatiya Bidyalay event. Doctors performed a battery of tests before deciding she needed a higher level of care.

"She is not in any kind of danger, but she is under considerable stress. She is unable to get adequate sleep, particularly at night. We have done whatever we could here, but we want her to receive better counselling at a higher-level institution," Dr. Baruah stated.

The treatment plan will span 15 to 20 days. Her family and the medical team are still picking the final Mumbai facility. Dr. Baruah asked the public to respect her privacy and avoid adding pressure regarding her future. He urged supporters to focus on her recovery instead of her personal affairs. The doctor expects her to return home healthy once she secures enough rest.
