Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg says the death of singer Zubeen Garg is a fight for all of Assam. The singer died in Singapore on September 19, 2025. His widow warns that failure to hold the accused accountable would represent a collapse for the state government, the Opposition, and every citizen. She refuses to accept any loss in court.
The family filed an FIR, but Garima insists this is now a matter of the State versus the accused. She expressed deep frustration regarding potential flaws in the evidence or legal process. She questioned how guilty parties could potentially walk free despite the facts being clear. "Even after everything is known, how can those responsible for Zubeen Garg's death be proven innocent? How can there be loopholes and shortcomings in the facts and evidence?" she asked.
Garima highlighted that she remains a peace-loving citizen who has shown immense patience while waiting for answers. She remains committed to the legal system. However, she believes the outcome of this case will define how Assam manages serious crime. She fears that any weakness in the prosecution will signal a collective defeat for the entire state.
