Guwahati: Debajit Hazarika took the stand Wednesday, September 16, at a Guwahati fast-track court. He is the fourth Assamese expatriate to travel from Singapore to provide testimony. The court is investigating the September 19 death of singer Zubeen Garg. The tragedy occurred during a yacht party.

Hazarika joined three other witnesses who previously recorded statements regarding the case. Parikshit Sharma, Sushmita Goswami, and Pratim Lahkar also attended the gathering. These four individuals were present when the singer died. Officials are gathering these accounts to piece together the events of that night.

The legal process remains active. Investigators aim to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident by questioning those in attendance. According to officials, the "recording of witness statements forms part of the ongoing legal proceedings" as the court works to determine exactly what happened on the yacht.
