Agartala: Anger is boiling over in South Jubarajnagar. Parents discovered expired medicine at the local Anganwadi centre in Ward No. 1 on September 5. The kids were at risk. Guardians arrived at the site after being summoned to collect the supplies, only to find the bottles had already passed their use-by dates.
One parent took to the official Anganwadi WhatsApp group immediately. The warning told everyone to keep the medicine away from their children. The fallout was swift. Officials on the scene included Mangal Khali Sub-Centre MPW Manish Nath, ASHA worker Koirun Nessa, and Anganwadi worker Mampi Debnath.
These staff members offered no immediate explanation to the concerned parents. Residents now demand a full investigation into the health department and strict discipline for those responsible. The community views the event as a dangerous failure of duty. As one local resident stated, "This is not just carelessness; it is a breach of trust. We want accountability and assurance that such lapses will never happen again."
