Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha traveled to New Delhi for International Literacy Day and the ULLAS Mela. The Ministry of Education hosted the event. It aims to push literacy as a movement driven by the people.
Saha joined Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary and various state officials to mark the progress. Other attendees included Dr. Vanlalthlana, Shri Rohit Thakur, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and Shri Raju Basnet. These leaders represented regions that already hit full literacy marks.
The group toasted a major win. Jammu and Kashmir officially attained full literacy status. This addition brings the national tally of fully literate states and union territories to 10. Saha noted the success of the campaign during the event.
"The event showcased the collective efforts being made across the country to promote literacy and lifelong learning," Saha said. He emphasized that public participation is the backbone of these national initiatives.
