Tripura Pushes Education Overhaul Under National Policy

Agartala: Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu says the National Education Policy 2020 is remaking the country. He spoke at the AAGAM 6.0 and Shikshak Samman-2026 event held at Hall No. 1 of Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala. Techno College of Engineering hosted the gathering. The policy aims to blend traditional Indian values with modern, practical skills. Tripura leads this change.

The state hit a 95.6 percent literacy rate. This follows the Nav Bharat Literacy Programme. Officials now count Tripura as a fully literate state. Schools added pre-primary sections to widen access. Vidyajyoti schools are building robotics and virtual reality labs. These labs push tech-driven learning for all students.

Building a Viksit Bharat takes grit. It requires rational thought and a hunger for evidence. The Governor pushed students to embrace their setbacks. "The National Education Policy 2020 is not merely a policy document; it creates an opportunity to rethink the way we educate our children," he said. He wants teachers to keep pushing the policy forward.

Ramprasad Paul, Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, praised Techno College for developing students. The event saw the Governor hand out prizes for state and district numerical competitions. ITI instructors and professors also received Shikshak Samman certificates. Professor Dibakar Deb and Professor Manasi Roy Chowdhury opened the proceedings.
