Kohima: Nagaland House staff gathered in R K Puram on August 25 to send off Dr. Hentok Phom. He served as a Joint Director of Health and Family Welfare and Senior Medical Officer for nearly 25 years. Now, he heads to Kohima to join the National Health Mission as a State Programme Officer.
Joint Resident Commissioner Sharon Longchari praised his long service. She noted how he built a vital network connecting patients from Nagaland to Delhi's top hospitals. He also fixed the process for paperwork and body embalming to help grieving families. Longchari stated, "The system, she said, would continue to benefit patients and families visiting Delhi for treatment."
Deputy Director Kuolie Mere credited Phom with empanelling 19 Delhi-NCR hospitals under the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme. Phom also started a volunteer blood donation platform in 2014 that runs through local student unions. During the event, Phom reflected on his tenure starting in 2002. He noted that serving the staff remained a top priority throughout his career.
