Central Delegation Reviews Operations at Agartala Civil Hospital

Agartala: A high-level central government team descended on the Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Agartala Civil Hospital this Monday. They came to audit the infrastructure and medical services. Chief Minister Manik Saha opened this facility on July 12, 2026. The state wants better care for everyone.

The hospital offers five specialized departments: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, Dermatology, Paediatrics, and Ophthalmology. Patients can also access dental care and diagnostic blood tests. The building is fully air-conditioned and runs on a paperless system. Public interest in the facility is climbing rapidly.

The inspection team included NHA CEO Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal and NHM Deputy Secretary Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav. Ayushman Bharat CEO and State Mission Director G. Sharath Nayak joined them. Tripura Mission Director Saju Wahid A and IGM Hospital Superintendent Dr. Nirmal Sarkar rounded out the group of senior officials.

The team walked through the entire site. They checked the outpatient department, inpatient department, emergency unit, medical store, and wards. They scrutinized the operational arrangements. An official noted the visit was aimed at "assessing the hospital's existing infrastructure and healthcare services." The delegation finished their review of the site without reported incident.
