Cachar Police Seize Heroin and Smuggled Cigarettes in Assam Drug Raid

Guwahati: Cachar Police arrested two suspected traffickers during a sting operation in Assam. The bust went down at the Bhetor Lailapur Forest Gate area. Officers from the Lailapur Police Outpost, working under the Dholai Police Station, executed the raid.

The haul was significant. Police seized 86.81 grams of heroin tucked inside five soap cases and 41 small plastic containers. They also recovered 341.6 grams of ganja and 53 packets containing 1,060 Myanmar-made cigarettes. Cops added Rs 1,620 in cash to the evidence pile.

Authorities moved the two unnamed suspects and the contraband to the Dholai Police Station. Police have registered a case under relevant legal provisions. They are now hunting for other members of the syndicate. Cachar Police stated: "The crackdown on narcotics trafficking and other illegal activities will continue with the same intensity in the coming days."
