Guwahati: Dima Hasao police locked up six alleged drug traffickers following a five-day crackdown on narcotics. Officers hit three separate locations based on solid intelligence. The raids targeted Mahur Railway Station, Maibang Railway Station, and Harangajao.
Officers moved fast. At Mahur Railway Station, they grabbed one suspect with 54 grams of suspected heroin stuffed into four plastic soap cases. The second bust at Maibang Railway Station netted three more people with 23.22 grams of the drug hidden in two soap cases.
The final raid at Harangajao proved the most productive. Police took two more individuals into custody and recovered 132.46 grams of suspected heroin packed into ten plastic soap cases. The total haul reached 209.68 grams of suspected heroin along with five mobile phones and one car.
Authorities are currently hunting for the rest of the supply chain. Police stated, "Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify other members of the suspected drug trafficking network." They aim to break the entire operation.
