Guwahati: Police arrested four people during a Friday night drug raid in Kalyanpur. The operation targeted a residence under the jurisdiction of the Nagarbera Police Station in Assam's Kamrup district. Officers acted on a tip-off received by CDSP Jankishore Gogoi. SI Champak Kalita and SI Harjit Das led the search alongside other personnel.
The team found 21 grams of suspected heroin inside two containers weighing 72 grams total. They also uncovered 25 grams of the drug stored across 30 vials that weighed 55 grams. Police seized 157 empty vials, four mobile phones, and 3,240 rupees in cash. Witnesses watched the search.
Authorities identified the detainees as Jahadul Islam, Jamiran Nessa, and Tohinul Ali, all locals from Kalyanpur. Md Jamal Badsha, a resident of Bilashipara in the Dhubri district, was also taken into custody. Police officials stated that "the contraband and other articles were seized following due legal procedures." Officers are continuing the investigation and preparing further legal action.

Separately, law enforcement reported a bust in Dhubri district on Saturday morning. Officers intercepted a boat at Chalakura Pt-5 and seized 40 cows. Smugglers ditched the vessel and escaped into the river terrain when police moved in. Authorities are currently tracing the smuggling network behind the transport.
In a separate operation, Karbi Anglong Police intercepted a vehicle headed from Diphu toward Dimapur. Officers pulled several dogs from the truck, finding them stuffed inside jute sacks with their muzzles bound. Police are processing charges for the illegal transport and animal cruelty involved in the shipment.

Dhubri police also dismantled a ring running mule bank accounts to launder cyber fraud loot. Officers arrested four men, including an alleged mastermind, linked to the operation. The suspects, identified as Karam Choudhury, Kalachan Ali, Kamal Hussain, and Samsuddin Sahajahan, allegedly moved daily sums between 10,000 and 50,000 rupees through accounts tied to various states. Police filed the case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following intelligence from the national SAMANVAYA portal.
Regarding the Dhubri cattle seizure, investigators identified the operation as a targeted move by the Dhubri Sadar Police Station under the command of Officer-in-Charge Pritam Das. The team hit the river site at 6:38 am after tracking intelligence on the smugglers.

Nagaon police hit smugglers at Kathiatoli in a late-night strike, hauling in two trucks stuffed with 20 head of cattle. Officers detained both drivers for questioning after confirming the shipment lacked legal clearance. Investigators are now tracking reports that the cattle were pinched from across Nagaon and routed through Karbi Anglong, allegedly destined for illegal export into Bangladesh.
The two confiscated vehicles are registered under plates AS02DC-7438 and AS02E-3648. Law enforcement is digging into the smuggling ring's origins and the final stops for the livestock.

Jagiroad police raided a separate cattle smuggling operation, rescuing 40 head of livestock. Officers intercepted three vehicles: a truck marked NL-01AE-1527 traveling from Amoni to Guwahati and two smaller transport rigs registered as AS01SC6527 and AS01TC2436. The drivers and their help bailed before police could cuff them. Authorities moved the rescued cattle to a local gaushala for protection as they trace the network behind the shipments.
