Police Bust Four in Assam Heroin Seizure

Guwahati: Police arrested four people during a Friday night drug raid in Kalyanpur. The operation targeted a residence under the jurisdiction of the Nagarbera Police Station in Assam's Kamrup district. Officers acted on a tip-off received by CDSP Jankishore Gogoi. SI Champak Kalita and SI Harjit Das led the search alongside other personnel.

The team found 21 grams of suspected heroin inside two containers weighing 72 grams total. They also uncovered 25 grams of the drug stored across 30 vials that weighed 55 grams. Police seized 157 empty vials, four mobile phones, and 3,240 rupees in cash. Witnesses watched the search.

Authorities identified the detainees as Jahadul Islam, Jamiran Nessa, and Tohinul Ali, all locals from Kalyanpur. Md Jamal Badsha, a resident of Bilashipara in the Dhubri district, was also taken into custody. Police officials stated that "the contraband and other articles were seized following due legal procedures." Officers are continuing the investigation and preparing further legal action.
