Guwahati: Dima Hasao Police raided a jhum field in the Dauhaja jungle Saturday, September 19. They seized two pistols, ammunition, and mobile phones. The operation kicked off in the early morning hours near the Langting Police Station. Officers moved in after getting a tip about a makeshift tent hidden in the brush.
Authorities found a .22 calibre pistol and a .32 calibre pistol inside the camp. They also took one suspect into custody during the sweep. Police now hold the weapons and the electronics as evidence. Investigators are working to "determine the circumstances surrounding the recovery and establish the role of the apprehended person in the case." The probe remains active as police look into the suspect's background.
