Police Seize 1,015 Litres of Illicit Liquor in Dima Hasao

Guwahati: Assam police stopped a massive illegal booze haul in Dima Hasao. They seized 1,015 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor valued at roughly Rs 4.94 lakh. Two people are now in custody.

Officers acted on a tip about a shipment heading for Maibang. They set up checkpoints across Langting and Maibang on September 29. Cops stopped a Tata Yodha, registration number AS-08C-3107, at Choto Lalbong near Langting Police Station. The driver could not hide the cargo.

The search turned up 5,148 bottles and cans stashed beneath bags of cattle feed. Officials seized the vehicle, two mobile phones, and 13 bags of feed along with the alcohol. Authorities stated, "The two detained persons are being dealt with as per law." Investigation into the smuggling operation continues.
