Guwahati: Barpeta District Commissioner Nabadeep Pathak cracked the whip on stalled projects. He chaired the July District Development Committee meeting at the Circuit House Conference Hall on July 18. The session focused on clearing backlogs for government schemes.

Key officials attended the assembly. Attendees included Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ditimoni Pegu, District Development Commissioner Geetalee Dowarah, various Additional District Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and heads of local government departments. They reviewed progress across the Education, Agriculture, Health, and Transport sectors.

Pathak demanded results. He ordered all department heads to speed up scheme implementation and finish pending work without excuses. Coordination is a must. Pathak noted: "He also emphasised the need for regular monitoring and review of developmental initiatives to ensure that targets under various flagship programmes are achieved within the stipulated timeframe."

The administration expects tighter oversight moving forward. Every department must hit its targets on time to improve public service delivery.
