Guwahati: Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and author-filmmaker Tahira Kashyap sent funds to the Assam Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. They want to back rehabilitation for families hit by the state’s massive floods. Thousands of people lost homes and livelihoods. Whole districts sit under water. The couple kept the exact donation amount private.

Assam needs help. Relief teams and local agencies are working around the clock to clean up the disaster. The pair hopes their act pushes others to donate too. They expressed solidarity with the victims during this painful time. They said, "We wanted to do our part to support families rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of the floods."

This is not their first time giving. The duo previously sent money to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also backed Gulmeher, a group in Delhi that helps women waste-pickers. Khurrana currently serves as a UNICEF India National Ambassador. He spends much of his time pushing for children’s rights and education.
