Kohima: Bank of Baroda handed over Rs 1.20 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund on July 30. The money helps Assam recover from recent floods. Bank officials delivered the check at the Chief Minister's Office in Guwahati.
Shiba Pada Nayak, General Manager and Zonal Head for the North Eastern States, presented the funds to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. This donation falls under the bank's corporate social responsibility program.
Several officials witnessed the handover. Attendees included MLA Naba Kumar Doley, Deputy General Manager of Compliance and Assurance Biswajit Swain, Deputy General Manager of Business Development Sandeep Kumar, and Zonal Marketing Manager Mithu Kalita.
The bank confirmed the donation "is aimed at supporting the state's ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures in the wake of the recent floods." Local leaders are using these resources to stabilize communities hit hard by the rising water.
