Guwahati: CBTF Foundation founder Amit Majithia secured 1.66 crore rupees to construct 124 homes for flood-ravaged families in Assam’s Sivasagar district. He expects to wrap up construction within three months. Majithia and 20 associates pooled their money to fund the rehabilitation project.

The foundation provides more than just four walls. Families will receive beds, mattresses, cooking stoves, ceiling fans, LED lights, dining tables, chairs, crockery, pressure cookers, and water purifiers. The effort aims to restore normalcy for those hit by the disaster.

Education remains a top priority for the donors. The team is handing out bicycles, school bags, and learning kits to local children. Construction crews are also installing toilets, washrooms, and drinking-water hand pumps to bolster sanitation. According to the foundation statement, "The project is intended to provide comprehensive support to flood-hit families by addressing housing needs alongside essential household requirements, sanitation, drinking water and children's education."

Majithia started his business journey at 13 after dropping out of school in Class 9. He now runs companies in digital media, entertainment, hospitality, and technology.
