Kohima: Global Shapers Kohima Hub handed over registration proceeds from its Run for Hope 2026 event to two mental health organizations on September 20. The donation supports the Gracious Life Foundation in Chümoukedima and the State Mental Health Institute in Kohima.
Organizers split a total of Rs 22,400 between the groups. The Gracious Life Foundation received Rs 11,200 in cash. The State Mental Health Institute accepted Rs 11,200 worth of recreational equipment and utilities.
The 5 km run took place on September 10 at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. It ran under the theme "Every Step Gives Hope." Over 450 people showed up for the event. Roughly 200 participants finished the race. Organizers said the donation represents the effort of every volunteer and sponsor involved.
The event aimed to spark conversations on well-being across the region. Global Shapers Kohima Hub plans to keep pushing for mental health awareness in Nagaland. They thanked all partners for making the handover possible.
