Guwahati: State-owned oil companies pushed commercial LPG prices up by 10 rupees starting November 1. This hike brings the cost of a 19-kg cylinder to 2,820 rupees. It is the second straight month of price bumps for businesses like hotels and restaurants. Prices hit 3,113.50 rupees in June before falling, but this latest move erodes those gains.

Aviation turbine fuel also got more expensive. Rates climbed by 1.38 rupees per litre, moving from 137.12 to 138.50 rupees. This is the fourth monthly hike in a row for the sector. Industry observers note the impact is significant because "ATF accounts for up to 40 per cent of an airline’s operating costs," putting major pressure on carrier bottom lines.

These changes depend on global benchmarks and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Tax variations mean rates shift across states. Meanwhile, domestic 14.2-kg LPG cylinders hold steady at 942 rupees. Petrol and diesel prices saw no changes today. The 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinder remains priced at 1,903 rupees for new connections and 782 rupees for refills.
