Guwahati: Assam Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika held a meeting on September 10 to review the state's active irrigation projects. He wants results. The minister pressed stakeholders to strengthen systems and guarantee that farmers get water exactly when they need it.
Hazarika ordered better coordination between the Agriculture and Irrigation Departments to keep services aligned with actual farm requirements. Planners must now sync water distribution with current weather patterns to manage resources across different seasons. The minister wants more land covered by irrigation networks.
Hazarika stressed the importance of ensuring the timely completion of ongoing irrigation projects, while calling for more efficient use and management of the state's water resources. His goal is to boost agricultural productivity and grow the sector. Every bit of current infrastructure needs to be tougher and more reliable for cultivators.
