Asam Sahitya Sabha Grants Zubeen Garg’s Music Unique Cultural Status

Guwahati: The Asam Sahitya Sabha is officially naming Zubeen Garg’s musical catalog Zubeen Sangeet. This move gives his body of work a distinct cultural identity. The organization intends to document and promote his creative output through several new initiatives. Work starts now.

The Sabha plans to release an analytical book featuring his songs alongside expert reviews of his style and themes. They want the public to study his influence. Plans are also underway to translate these tracks into Tamil and Telugu to capture audiences across southern India.

The group remains busy with other projects. They are currently compiling 34 plays from a recent acting workshop into two volumes. The organization expects to publish these books within six months. The Sabha confirmed the status change will help preserve the singer’s legacy, stating the decision was part of an effort to "document, preserve and promote Garg’s creative contributions."
