Guwahati: A three-day memorial event for music icon Zubeen Garg started Thursday, September 17, at Zubeen Kshetra in Sonapur. Fans have gathered to mark the first anniversary of his death. Flowers and fresh gamosas now decorate the singer's final resting place.

Thousands of followers are expected at the venue. The Assam government provided support to manage the large crowds anticipated for the commemoration. Organizers have asked all visitors to maintain discipline and participate peacefully in the scheduled events.

The first day opened with morning prayers. Naam-prasanga follows in the afternoon. The second day features various cultural programs, while the final day includes Bhagawat recitation and Bhaona performances. Many fans remember the singer, widely known among his followers as "Pranor Silpi," during this solemn observance.
