Itanagar: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak warned that border security remains a priority in Arunachal Pradesh. He addressed concerns regarding a possible Chinese incursion in Taksing, located in the Upper Subansiri district. While he stated no confirmed intelligence exists to verify foreign entry, he emphasized that large stretches of no man's land require constant watch. The terrain is rugged and largely uninhabited.
Tagak shifted his focus to the economic prospects of the Ziro Valley during a visit to Lower Subansiri. He toured the Cosmos Flower Garden in Bulla village, where locals cultivate blooms known as Samang Phool. He suggested the state government declare the site a protected asset. He also visited the Ranii Flower Garden, managed by the Flower Plantation Society. He praised their work in driving tourism and creating local jobs.
Infrastructure must keep pace with these gains. Tagak called for better roads, improved sanitation, and reliable law and order to support growing visitor numbers. "Ziro has great potential in terms of tourism," he said. He pledged to use parliamentary forums to push for community-led project funding.
The MP met with the Apatani Youth Association to discuss boosting local participation in government schemes. He also announced that Ziro is slated to receive two Assembly seats following the next delimitation process. A departmental review meeting will start in Ziro soon to track the implementation of state projects. These efforts aim to stabilize the region while highlighting the cultural heritage and rice cultivation systems of the Apatani people.
