Arunachal CM Lauds DRDO Over Successful Kusha Missile Trial

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the Defence Research and Development Organisation on July 25. He celebrated the successful first flight of the indigenous Kusha long-range surface-to-air missile. It is a major win for domestic air defense.

Khandu posted footage of the trial on social media. He thanked the engineers, scientists, industry partners, and military personnel who built the weapon. "Congratulations to @DRDO_India and all the scientists, engineers, industry partners, and defence personnel behind the successful maiden flight-test of the 'Kusha' Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile," the Chief Minister said.

The test cuts India's reliance on foreign military hardware. Khandu believes this achievement shows the real strength of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Each new home-grown system helps national security and boosts technological independence. The trial represents a clear move toward better defense readiness for the country.
