38 Nagaland Youth Head to Delhi for UNIQLO Careers

Kohima: Thirty-eight youths from Nagaland have set out for the Delhi NCR region to begin work as Trainee Retail Associates with the Japanese brand UNIQLO. The group officially onboarded on October 14 following a recruitment drive linked to the UNIQLO Xperience Day.

Abu Metha, Chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, met the new recruits in Sovima before they left. He pushed them to focus on discipline, adaptability, and the value of a strong work ethic. Metha told the trainees, "their success could create further opportunities for young people from the state."

The program aims to sharpen communication and customer service skills. Metha noted that these roles provide a practical look at Japanese work culture and financial management. He views the partnership with UNIQLO as proof of the untapped potential within Naga talent, hoping these associates pave a path for those coming after them.
