UNIQLO Hires 41 Nagaland Youths for Retail Jobs

Kohima: UNIQLO picked 41 youths from Nagaland to fill retail roles. This follows a major outreach drive that kicked off last month. The brand engaged more than 450 students from various local colleges and institutes during the UNIQLO Xperience Day on August 21.

The event aimed to show students the inner workings of the company. It featured interactive sessions, a firm presentation, and speeches from Yuichiro Kaneko, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO India, and Abu Metha, Chairman of IDAN. Students walked through the UNIQLO Xperience Zone to study product technology and chat with staff from the Northeast. They also learned about the Japanese work culture and core workplace values before grabbing some free brand merchandise.

This push turned into actual jobs. On September 11, the brand held a Hiring Day that brought in more than 130 registrations. Over 90 people showed up for interviews. The company confirmed the final count in an update: "UNIQLO selects 41 youths from Nagaland for retail roles."
